microsoft wireless keyboard freezes

J

James Depoorter

I have an Asus A7V8X-X motherboard. I've tried at least 3 different wireless
keyboard/mouse combination with WinXP and it behaves always like this:
whenever I touch the keyboard, the system locks up. There is no keyboard
present when I look at the hardware manager.
I bought a microsoft keyboard, just to be sure there would be some support.
I tried bios xx07 and xx06, but no result.

They are all ps/2 wireless keyboards... The wired keyboards work, so is a
wireless logitech keyboard.
The wireless keyboard works on another computer. It probably has to be a
combination of the Asus MB with some wireless technology many vendors use
(but not logitech)

Any ideas?

James
