Microsoft Windows Activation Key

I have a genuine Windows XP disc, and, because of reformatting a few times,I am
getting the message that I have 'Exceeded the amount of times I can use the
Key',I was under the impression, that if the disc is used on the same
computer, regardless of how many times you use it,it would 'activate'??.

Any solutions??,or will I need to get another disc??.

(Not sure if I'll find this site again,so reply via my e-mail address,

Yes - activate by phone. Have you tried that?

I would call Microsoft at this point. I had to do this when I had trouble
installing after replacing mother board. Everything was fixed with that
phone call but it was several years ago so I can not give you any details.

Good luck.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. Nor is there ever a
charge. Nor does a Product Key (so long as it's not an evaluation
license) ever expire. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you might
have to make a 5 minute phone call.
