microsoft vs. adaware

i think this anti-spyware is a hoax. i have adaware
installed and it finds about everything. the new beta ware
here has not worked as well. in addition the software
keeps wanting to redirect my homepage to msn instead of
where i choose. also i found my homepage one day on a
completely different site??? this never happened with
adaware (which is free to home users.) i think microsoft
needs to re-think what is is trying to achieve with this
product? for now it has been uninstalled on my pc and i
will continue to use adaware.

Frankly I use both, and find I NEED both to do an
effective job.

You can easily direct Antispyware to ignore the Homepage
change; adn things will hum merrily along. MSN quite
naturally gently tries at first to direct your attention
to MSN.com, because it's the native homepage for IE.

Are you aware that the current Beta release of AntiSpy
does not yet scan cookies ?

This is still beta software, so I wouldn't start comparing yet, wait until
the RTM.

Hi Nek,
In the Beta1 version, the program doesn't go into the cookie jar, nor does
it chase data miner objects.
You may continue to use adaware or any other of the fine programs that are
out there. Whatever program you feel most comfortable with is best for you
as long as it does the expected task.
