It seems to be fine for me a this time. I'd suggest trying again--check
another site to be sure your connectivity is good, then go to Microsoft
Update again.

Well that was weird. I have had that site bookmarked for over a year and it
always worked, but NO way would it work tonight. I went to google and typed
in Microsft windows update page, went there and it worked fine, even had all
my info of past updates????? Oh well, I just bookmarked the new page and
overwrote the old one, hopefully it will behave.

My Beta 1 is still working fine and Nortons shows nothing, so beats me what
happened. Thanx for the help anyway.....:)

2 ideas possible why it didn't work... either MS updated their address and
didn't provide a link from their old one, or your bookmark was corrupt.
Anyway, there's 2 other ways to reach it through the start menu, sometimes
there's a Microsoft Update there, other place is in your Tools menu... that
one says Windows Update... they changed the name to Micorosft Update, but it
still goes to the same place eventually through redirection. A 3rd idea, the
site could have been down for a minute, just long enough so you were the only
one with the error and no one else ever saw it; I think that might be the
case...hmmm :p

Engel has pointed out that you can also go to:

http://update.microsoft.com

And it'll take you where you want to go--Windows or Microsoft Update,
depending on how you've chosen in the past.

Well I had been there the day before and had no problems, so thought it
really weird to get that error message over and over. Oh well, I just
rebookmarked it and hopefully it will not do it again. I get nervous when
things go wacky on me, all I can think of is my computer is going nuts.
Nortons has come back fine, my viruses are up to date, as is my MAS Beta 1,
so I guess time will tell.

I see the Windows update in my start menu, but never use it as I always had
it bookmarked and it always took me there for over a year. Oh well, maybe my
computer was having a hissy fit or something. Thanx for the info. and ideas
as to what may have caused it. Enjoy......:)
