Microsoft security patches

G

Gerald Reynolds

I keep receiving e-mails claiming to be from Microsoft
offering a vital securty patch. They always come in twos,
the first with a lot of rubbish (looks like webpage code)
the second opens as a microsoft message with appropriate
graphics. The instructions are to open the attachment and
click YES to install the patch. But there is never an
attachment.

Is this Microsoft attempting to give me better security
protection or is it a malicious message?

I get these ,messages every two or three days. I did go to
Microsofts site about a week ago and downloaded the latest
patches and upgrades.

Hi Gerald,
MS NEVER send email with security updates, patches etc. The emails you are
receiving are likely to contain a virus - so...Do Not Open any attachments.
