Microsoft Script Editor acting strangely

R

Rod

When working with ASP code (which I still do for an old ASP application we
have here), I will get into FrontPage 2003 and then bring up Microsoft
Script Editor. Yesterday I was in and out of Microsoft Script Editor a lot,
with no problems whatsoever.

However today, for some reason, it is behaving very badly. Once I get into
Microsoft Script Editor it starts to flicker rapidly, as if it is refreshing
the original source code about 10 times a second. The title bar of
Microsoft Script Editor will rapidly change from something like
"Voucher.asp" to "Voucher.asp - [Read Only]" and then back again, all very
quickly. I can't use Microsoft Script Editor at all to edit my ASP code.

What's going on? How did this start? What do I do to make it stop? (I
have tried rebooting my PC, but that didn't help.)

Try deleting the cached (and possibly corrupted) copies of your webs - Close
FrontPage, and do a Find | Files and Folders | Named *.web, and delete them.
Also, delete your FrontPage Temporary Files - With FP running and your web
open, Tools | Web Settings | Advanced, delete Temporary files.
