Microsoft Says Firefox Not a Threat to IE

H

"A CNET article claims that 'just days after the launch of open-source
browser Firefox 1.0, Microsoft executives defended Internet Explorer,
saying it is no less secure than any other browser and doesn't lack any
important features.' It's also interesting to note that these statements
made by Steve Vamos, Microsoft Australia's managing director, come with
no knowledge of what Firefox has to offer as he admits not even
installing or using Firefox."

Hi Hermes,

IMHO, now that Firefox has been released and it's popularity grows
it is just a matter of time before it's venerability's will be exploited.

And yes, I do have it installed. <g>

I agree with you, Bert. But to my belief (some may consider this my
opinion), most 3rd party software out there is superior to Microsoft's
software in many ways, only one of which is security.

I agree. If Firefox had 90% of the market the nasty boys would target it
instead if IE.

Sorry, should have been vulnerabilities.

IMHO, now that Firefox has been released and it's popularity grows
it is just a matter of time before it's vulnerabilities will be exploited.
