Microsoft RDP client taskbar issue

Is there any way to configure the Microsoft RDP client so that the full
screen mode does not overlap the taskbar of the local desktop? We
currently use mostly Citrix ICA clients which allow the user to see
both the remote and local taskbars simultaneously without having to
scroll around in the remote desktop window to see the entire remote
desktop - it is a format our users are quite accustomed to. Is there
any way to accomplish this without sacrificing viewability of either
the local taskbar or the remote desktop?

I don't have your answer, but
I have MY computer at work with a VPN connection to my 'chine at home
I have not gotten successfully the network neighbor hood to tie in
between the lan at work, and the lan at home (I keep trying)
so my lame ass solution is to have RD on all the other machines at work
and OCCASIONALLY, I RD into my machine, and from it-full screen, I RD
into the other machines at work..

this is not the solution you want, BUT
when I double up my remote desktops
the one here at home, controlling my work desktop, I don't run fullscreen,
but a maximized (corners dragged out) window...

so- you could try not full screen, but a window as large as you can make it
(near filling the screen)
I believe you could even find a reg change that would take 99% of the
borders off
the maximimised window...
if useful, yer welcome, if not, sorry...
