Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders Backup

Hello!
When shutting down Outlook recently and following a prompt to "Save Backup"
(I've sheduled it to do it every week for over a year), nothing happens and a
couple of seconds later I get the abovereferenced window stating: "Outlook
has failed to successfully shut down. Please restart and then exit Outlook
again. You may also need to restart your computer"

I've recently installed the 2008 McAfee Internet Security Suite and it is
quite feasible that it is connected to some of its settings! I'm lost, please
help.
Thanks

Disable Mcafee integration with outlook. You don't really need it and it
only causes problems.

Thank you. I turned off the e-mail protection in McAfee but it didn't help!

The fact of the matter is that I've had McAfee installed since 2006 (renewed
in 2007 and a new version bought in 2008) and this is the first time I'm
experiencing this problem!

Over to you all...

Are you using Windows XP or Vista? Look at the event viewer - control panel,
administrator tool, event viewer. It may have additional information about
the failure.

Problems with McAfee e-mail protection can pop up at any time. And, just
disabling it doesn't usually work. You need uninstall and reinstall McAfee
and do a custom install without the email scanning module.

Dear Diane & Tom,

Thank you for your prompt advice. I may tend to agree with Tom when he says
that the best option might be to uninstall McAfee and re-install it manually
without the e-mail protection which Diane said wasn't necessary anyway!

Ciao,
