I try to access my hotmail account through microsoft outlook 2003.
In cases that my emails in the hotmail account are bigger than a certain
size (i think the threshold is 500kb) it starts the download but the download
freezes and the hotmail account becomes offline, it gives a message that the
connection with the server is timeout.

Any hinds as how to solve the problem?

Thanks

Have you tried to extend the server connection timeout?

View > Email accounts > View or change > Change you account and, goto > More
Settings. I believe its under the advanced tab that you can set the server
timeouts.

Dear Maspry, I am afraid that there is no option to set up connection
settings with the hotmail account. There is an option to set up quota for
email accounts but this is not true for hotmail accounts too. Any other
suggestions ?

Thanks

Do you access the internet through a proxy server, such as an ISA server? If
so can you bypass and test to see if this may be causing your problem?

No i use a simple dls connection through my ISP. Actually i have two PCs with
almost the same specification. I have Panda Titanium Firewall and Antivirus
2007 installed in both systems. In the system that i have installed Office
2007 the Outlook and the hotmail account works fine. In the system that i
have installed still Microsoft Office 2003 with the same Panda software, i
get connection timeouts everytime i download from my hotmail account email
more than about 500kb of size.
