tI purchased and installed Office outlook 2007 during the trial period. Will
it automatically convert to the purchased version after the trial period ends
or do I have to do something to convert it?

No, you should have uninstalled the trial prior to installing the paid for
version.
You will now have to uninstall all versions of Office, together with
Activation Assistant, rebbot, install your paid for version

You're right of course. I missed the fact that she had already purchased a
version then attempted to install it on the same partition as the trial.
That's always a mess.
Two versions of Outlook can never co-exist, and installing one version over
another never works.
Office 2007 will need to be removed completely, which usually takes some
manual work: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218
Then the purchased version will have to be installed.
After that, the Outlook profile will still be corrupt because it will retain
references to the non-existent trial version. A new Outlook profile will
have to be created from scratch.
