Here's one I never noticed before:

Nice reader-uses cleartype even in W98, ME, etc. Does text to speech with
the add-on.

Limitations-Won't print, won't let you copy but so much to the clipboard.

Oriented to sales of books but U of Va has a large library of free books.
I also got about 100 from an old free ISP CD from Barnes and Noble.

B or B+ maybe Acrobat reader is better, I think. Cleartype is the major plus
for MS Reader.

Actually use EText Viewer: http://etextviewer.firstsolo.net/ and gutenberg:
http://promo.net/pg/ the most.

I use a word processor to format the text documents to have pages that
are 8.5" wide x 6.38" tall. Then I reduce the margins as much as
possible and format the text to two columns, separated by .2". I then
number the pages. The best font (IMO) is Time Roman at 9 cpi for this
purpose. Finally, I save the document in .rtf format and when I open
them, I zoom to 100% or page width (whichever works). With my default
screen resolution of 1024 x 768, this makes a lot more sense than
scrolling down an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper with single column. All
one has to do is to press the Page Down button to turn the page. In
fact, my way makes it exactly like reading a pocketbook.
It would be nice if people made .pdf documents formatted this way.
