Click Insert | Object, and then locate "Microsoft Equation 3.0" in the list
of object types. There is also a button that you can add to the desired
toolbar.

If you cannot access Microsoft Equation, you will have to install it, via
Add and Remove Programs in Control Panel.

First make sure it isn't already installed, by clicking Insert > Object and
looking in the list of object types. If you see "Microsoft Equation 3.0", click
it and click OK.

If it isn't there, you'll have to install it from the Office installer. Go to
the Windows Control Panel and start Add/Remove Programs. Select Office 2003 and
click the Change button.

On the first page of the installer, accept the "Add or Remove Features" option
and click Next. On the second page, check the box for "Choose advanced
customization of applications" and leave everything else the way it is, and
click the Next button.

On the third page, expand the Office Tools icon at the bottom of the list.
Click the Equation Editor icon and choose "Run from my computer". Click the
Update button.

You may be asked to insert the Office CD, if the installation files weren't
copied to your hard drive during the initial installation.
