Method of filtering and autoresponding to emails with no subject

I frequently get email....mostly spam that does not have any subject
line information. I would like to know if there is a way in Outlook
2003 to filter email that does not have a subject line, delete the
email and then send an auto-response message stating that only emails
with a subject line are accepted.

Is there a way to do this? I would consider myself an above average
user but some of the stuff I have read on this group is un-real.

Thank you,

Yes (sort of) and yes. Create a rule that deletes everything (i.e., no
condition) and add an exception of "with specific words in the subject" and
make the specific words the strings, "a", "e", "i", "o", "u", and "y" (for
English). That way, as long as there is noe valid English word in the
subject, the message will not be deleted. If the subject is empty, contains
only punctuation, digits, or nonsense strings of letters, the message will
be deleted. Of course, subjects composed only of vowels (like "eieio") will
get through, but it's highly unlikely you'll get any like that.

Pointless, since the sending address is most likely faked, if it's spam. A
reply will simply produce an NDR. Even if the address is real, it is
probably that of an unsuspecting victim whose address was hijacked.

Brian:
Thank you for the solution...I did this and it works great. Can I set
up an auto response only to email with no subject information? This
would also help me as I get a lot of business email like this as well
and I sort by conversation....and then the no subject email goes into
a HUGE conversation. ;) Any suggestions?

Thanks for the "vowel solution".

There's no good way without code to test if a message subject is completely
empty.
