Messenger online status & hyperlink

Is it possible to display a Messenger user's current online status (online,
offline, away, not available) and a hyperlink to send him/her a message?

It has been possible to display current online status for an ICQ user number
as an image:
http://status.icq.com/online.gif?icq=95149395
or to launch an ICQ window for composing the message:
http://www.icq.com/people/cmd.php?uin=859710&action=message

Skype provides similar services: You can display user's current online
status
http://mystatus.skype.com/smallicon/theptcompany
(he/she has to enable this in the client settings) or start various actions
by clinking on hyperlinks:

callto://theptcompany

skype:theptcompany?chat

skype:theptcompany?voicemail

skype:theptcompany?userinfo

Does Microsoft offer such hyperlinks and online status indicators for
Messenger users? If not, is there any 3rd party service available?

As far as I know, you can't do the showing whether you're online at the
moment, as for starting a chat conversation, you have these commands:

msnim:chat?contact=
msnim:add?contact=
msnim:voice?contact=
msnim:video?contact=

Just add your email address after the =. These should be put in as
hyperlinks in your html code.

Greetings,

Yes you can, there's:
http://www.onlinestatus.org

or other tools like Web2Messenger:
http://www.web2messenger.com

Microsoft doesn't provide anyway for you to show your status though.

The link http://www.onlinestatus.org isnt always reliable as people need to
have their computers/servers online 24/7 all the time. I figured if Yahoo /
ICQ / AIM does it for their users, why cant MSN? Since it is one of the top 3
IM programs at this time. A reason why many people have had to go out of
their way and script up programs that aren't verified by Microsoft having to
look up ports via an IP, ect ect.

I have a problem using onlinestatus.org since i have a different email
address other than hotmail or MSN. I know a few other people who have also
registered email accounts other than those domains that i have already
mentioned before. Maybe now that Microsoft Live will be introduced in the
near future, they can help us who use their products and services, whip up an
easier way to show our MSN Msgr Status via a webpage, blog signature or even
in their "Member Directory".
