Messenger Gone

Windows Messenger is missing on my system.

It is set to start when windows start. I have checked
the start-up menu and it is there, however, it does not
start automatically. When I click on the program to
start it manually, I get the hour glass for a few seconds
and then nothing.

What do I do?

Thanks

Greetings Jonathan,

It sounds like Windows Messenger may just have been disabled. To correct this, download and
run these .reg files in the affected account:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablewindowsmessenger_user.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablemessenger.reg
After running these, reboot and then try opening Windows Messenger again.

Greetings from one Jonathan to another !

Good News/Bad News.

Good I downloaded the two reg files you
recommended and rebooted. Windows Messenger is now
present and accounted for and appears to be functioning
normally.

Bad My screen display changed size. I was able to
adjust it in the control panel, but, it changed again
when I rebooted.

I have checked to be sure that I have the most current
video driver, which I do. On a whim, I went to a
neigbors house and swapped video cards. Mine works fine
in his computer and I am still having this symptom with
his video card in mine.

Sounds to me like maybe a registry issue, but I don't
know what to do from here.

Thanks
