Message stuck in Outbox

How can I get rid of a message stuck in the Outbox? The
message has a large (6MB) attachment, which is too big for
my ISP's SMTP gateway. When I try to delete or move the
message out of the Outbox I get an error message telling
me that the MAPI Spooler has already begun sending the
message. And if I wait, I get an error message telling me
that the SMTP server timed out. So, how to I kill this
message and get it out of the Outbox? Thanks!
 
Yes, I have. I have also taken the machine off the
network. Do I need to stop the MAPI service in order to
kill the message?

Outlook. And then try to delete the message.
