Message moving and send-receive frozen

Hi
My Outlook 2003 has suddenly stopped sending-receiving - I get Unknown Error
(0x8004060C) as an error message in Send/Receive progress - and also cannot
move any existing messages or delete them. I can open messages and compose
replies and fowards and it seems they do send although I get the error
message.

On every scheduled send/receive I see the mails trying to come in on the
system tray as they are scanned by Symantec - but at the end of that the
error message comes up and they don't arrive in the inbox.

When I try and delete messages I get "Message interface has returned an
unknown error" and when I try to move messages to folders I get "Can't move
item".

It seems almost as if there is a button that I've pressed which freezes all
exisitig messages and folders and the inbox in its current state and won't
allow anything new - what have I done!!

Thanks for your help, Robert. Unfortunately scanpst.exe did not solve the
problem, although it did find 400-odd minor inconsistencies. Any more
thoughts? I have even tried un-installing Office XP Pro and re-installing -
amazingly it kept my entire folder strructure intact through this process but
sadly also kept the problem...

Thanks

Reinstalling won't help with configuration issues. After repairing are you
able to move items?

Disable Symantec's integration with Outlook and try again.

Dear Roady (and any other interested parties)
I have finally solved the problem described in this thread. It was pretty
basic - my pst file was full up, apparently, although I had no messages
telling me so. Hence all actions which were inside the file were frozen,
including delete which of course requires space in the "deleted" section of
Outlook.pst.

I eventially solved it by transferring some messages to the archive -
something I don't normally do as I like to keep all messages in folders under
Personal Files. Freeing up this space allowed some headroom and then all
functionality was restored, allowing me to delete some clutter and also
compact the file to give finally about half a Gb of room before this happens
again....

Thanks for your help last week.
