Message: CreateFile failed

I've been trying to install the latest version of SUMo (in XP Pro SP3)
and after making the various selections, I get a box that says 'Setup'
in the header, then 'CreateFile failed; code 5. Access is denied.'
When I click OK, I get another box, labeled 'Error', that says 'Setup
was not completed. Please correct the problem and run Setup again.'
I have tried to do the install a couple times after complete shut
downs.

Any idea what the problem might be and how to correct?

Thanks for any help.

Just as the error indicates there is an access violation somewhere.
Contacted the program manufacturer/support team?

Yes, I had contacted the program team.

I just downloaded the software again, and despite a few pains it
installed successfully! The issues I ran into, which I haven't seen
with other software are:
1. I couldn't save the download file to the folder I normally use
2. I couldn't install the software into the folder name I had used
previously (I had uninstalled the software before trying to do this.)
Perhaps there are registry entries pointing to the first folder name.

Thanks for your reply.

Glad you got this resolved. In case of "Access is denied" errors, one could
use Process Monitor to narrow down the problem, whether it's a registry key
access problem or file system permissions.
