Merge query into Word mail merge file does not work

I use access 2002 and have a database file with several tables.
I have made a selection query where I want to extract certain addresses.
In the criteria-line, in the column of for instance the field City, I have
put for instance "London".
When I go to Tools, Ofice Links , Merge It With Microsoft Word, I can select
the merge-fields from the query and everything works well.

However I also have a query with a parameter. In the criteria-line, in the
column of the field City, I ask for the name: [City:]
The query works fine and makes the correct selection.
However when I try to merge this query with Word, I get the message that
Word is unable to open de file.

Does anybody have a clue what I do wrong?

The "parameter query" is a very specific piece of Access functionality.
These types of Access-isms typically only work inside of Access.

We have several Word merge files with access parameter queries attached and
they work just fine.

Steve,
I have found the following:
My application was written in ACCESS 2000 in 1998.
Due to a harddisk crash we are now using the application in ACCESS 2002,
with the problem as described.
However now I'm using the application with ACCESS 2000 and it works as
before, no problem whatsoever.
Could it be something with the version?

VAP:
If you have several word merges with parameter queries how did you locate
the queries. I am using office 2002 and it will not let me locate the
queries that have parameters.
I have tried severl things.
Any help you can give me would be great.
