Merge Changes

Hi

My company has recently changed its name and I need to show these changes on
a large qty of templates. The first change is exchanging a picture in the
header and the second change is changing text in the footer of the documents.
Is there any way I can apply this change to all the documents at the same
time? Please help!!

Kind regards

Alex

You may be able to use a batch replace - see
http://www.gmayor.com/batch_replace.htm - to replace the graphic with a
graphic pasted on the clipboard (i.e. replace with ^c ) but you are going to
have to modify the macro to locate and replace the correct graphic. Simply
changing the templates will have no effect on the documents. Do you need to
change the documents? I wouldn't bother for documents that are merely
archived or they will no longer be a correct reflection of how they
originally were presented.

You might also consider some better method of inserting what might be
variable information in the header e.g. by using links, IncludeText fields
or Autotext fields, all of which can easily be changed, when the company
renames itself again, by changing the imported information and updating the
fields or links.
