Is there a menu builder for Frontpage 2003.
I would like to make "link/navigation" menus that expand for more options on
mouseover.
It is done with JavaScript.
Good example is the free html menu builder at coffeecup.com:
http://www.coffeecup.com/freestuff/
I just can't make that program work with FrontPage 2003 pages.
I tried creating a new frontpage page copy the java code to it and then save
as filename.js and keep in Script Folder, but when I try to get the buttons
on a new page, I get a grey box where I insert the java.

You might want to check out DHTML Menu Builder. I absolutely love it and
have been using it for a little over a year.

Is it easy to use with Frontpage 2003. I have no java script experience.
Can items be moved on FP page like buttons and images?
Thank you for the reply.

You wouldln't be using java but javascript. it's easy to use and it works
cross browser (i'm referring to the link for the xfx menu builder you were
given above).

I'm not sure I understand you exactly but the way you should work with this
is as a frontpage include. insert/ web component/ include page.

why not try the free download at DHTML menu builder, fool around with it.
if you like it buy it and come back. I'd be glad to walk you through an
easy technique to work with it in concert with frontpage.

BTW the guy who makes that utility, Xavier Flix, is a stand up guy and
stands behind the product 100% .

Thanks guys,

I have played with the demo of DHTML menu editor and it is great.
Thank you for the recommendation.

It does have on thing I had to work around. I have WinXP Pro and for some
reason when I would shift from the tutorial view to the program, I had
problem getting the tutorial to appear. Solved it by using Task Manager,
but was a bit awkward.

send a quick email to Xavier and see if he's heard of the issue. you'll be
blown away by the speed and quality of his reply.

I agree with that. When I corresponded with Xavier back when I was doing a
review of DMB, he was always incredibly responsive.

I had a catastrophic failure of my hard drive and lost the menu builder
program, the receipt email, the key, and everything else.
Xavier sent me everything I needed to get his app running again and even
offered to help me with the drive. It was physically destroyed (sounded
like a can full of bb's) so nobody could have helped me there, but at least
he offered. Hell of a guy.

That's why I chose his product as my recommendation. As a matter of fact,
all of the products I review are only recommended after working with the
developers, not just in looking at the product.

I'm getting ready to release two or three new reviews. Products coming down
the pipe are:

* Object Desktop from Stardock - A VERY cool product.
* FL Studio (formerly known as Fruity Loops) - An unbelievably awesome
music and sound editor, sequencer, and so much more.
* EZGenerator - A Web development tool from the creators of FL Studio.

I plan on reviewing the latter from the perspective of a tool that
supplements FrontPage nicely.

Will do. Now if I can just stop playing with FL Studio long enough to get
the review done! :)

This product is not specifically Web related, but it's so daggone cool that
I just had to write a review.

I'm dying to see it. I played around with sounds for events a while back
but when java stopped being "viable" for navigation etc. I gave it up.
