Memory Volateg & Timing

My system: Q6600, Intel D975XBX2, Ballistix DDR2 800 memory.

The default voltage for the memory is 1.84V and the timing is 5-5-5-18 on
the motherboard.

According to Crucial, the V for Ballistix DDR2 800 is 2.2V and the timing is
4-4-4-12.

Should I change those values in BIOS? What would be the result of changing
them?

Yeah, the maker knows better than the mainboard. You could run
diagnostics to see if it works okay at the better settings.

The ID chip on the memory stick will set the voltage and timings at a
"safe" setting, so there's no problem booting with it initially.

Yes, you should change the voltage and timings according to the given
specs. The result will be the memory will run at the proper spec.
