memory management blue screen

Dear Newsgroups,

Hello all, I have been struggling to install RC1 and hope someone out there
can show me the light.

Story so far....

- install failed first time, since on reboot the CD was in the drive, so
then wanted to do a separate install, instead of the upgrade I was trying.
- if I remove CD, this went ok, through all install steps, it then sits on
Completing Install... (the last step) for quite a while, I then get Blue
screen and memory management error.

- This has now happened 4 times !!!!

My machine

AMD 64 +3800
Asus A8N Deluxe Mother Board
3GB RAM in 3 x 1GB Dimms
6800GS 256MB PCI-E Graphics

My thought is, like windows XP, it cannot handle 3GB of memory.

Any ideas?? Or should I hope and pray this is fixed in the final release.

Many thanks

Mark Wiltshire

I have been running Vista RC1 and RC2 on my PC that has 4GB of memory with no
issues. Your RAM may be going bad. Check the RAM first.

When booting there is a memory diagnostic option (when chosing vista or older
releases) (use tab to get there)

or try http://www.memtest.org/

let the test run for some time (may be hours)
I've had this problem too and needed to replace my memory
