Memory dump (BS0D)

My laptop is generating a memory dump and crashing. With some investigation
It led
me to believe there was a memory problem (used memtest86+). Changed hard
drive,
swapped the two 512mb RAMS around, replaced RAMwith 1x1GB RAM, and changed
the processor. None of this has solved the problem. Without warning I stll
get a BSOD
and a physical dump of memory. I have reinstalled the operating system and
run it with
no additional software that might be causing a conflict. Also checked the
event log that
reports an IO WARNING_PAGING_FAILURE and also an error 51 code. I have checked
microsoft knowledge on the error 51 that is a disk warning but not sure how
the article
is going to help me pin the problem down. It leads me to think Its the
motherboard at
which point I am ready to call it a day. Does anyone have any last
minuteideas before I
ditch the laptop which in between crashes works absolultely fine?
All help greatly appreciated
thanks

Fixed it!
Believe it or not I managed to fix this by simply updating the BIOS. The
laptop is an Acer 5101 and i updated it form vs 2 to vs 3.5. When looking
again at the BIOS it has shuffled some things about e.g. the 1GB RAM was
previously recognised as being in slot 0 now it was recofniged as being in
slot 1. Anywy its worked and both memtest and windows memory diagnositc
report no errors at all!
hope this helps someone else too
