Memory coniguration

I am trying to run old dos aplications on a new system running XP
professional build 2.6

I can get the XMS / EMS thing configured via the config.nt file, but I need
to be able to unload the Expanded Memory Manager to use the aplications.

How can I do this?
I use the dosbox aplication or start windows in safe mode with command prompt.
The Program I am trying to run is Ultima 7 Serpents Isle.

Each time you create a shortcut to COMMAND, you can rightclick the icon,
Properties/Program tab/Advanced button/ to set the path to an individual
config.nt, and autoexec.nt file. There is no reason why these files might
not be blank
