Media transfer to PSP on RC1

I have a Sony PSP (the US version) running Firmware 2.81. I would like to
transfer content on my computer to it. For music and photos, there's no
issue - I can drag and drop. For movies, however, I need to convert
assorted files - AVI files chiefly among them - into MPEG4 files.
Unfortunately, none of the three programs I would use for this work on Vista
RC1: Nero 6 won't install (it's incompatible), PSP Video 9 crashes, and PSP
Media Manager thinks Vista is Windows 2000 and won't install.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can change AVI files into MPEG4 files
without using the aforementioned programs? Thanks!

I have Nero v6.6.1.4 Portable Enterprise Edition (requires no installation
and it's free). Set the compatability option under properties for this
program, when User Account Control pops up, hit Allow. Then when Program
Compatability Assistant shows, select Run Program. That's it for getting Nero
6 working. Sadly, PSP Video 9 still doesn't work under Vista. The development
team are aware, though have publically said they'll continue testing under XP
for now. And Media Manager is also only for XP with the .NET Framework 1.1.
Do a search for Xilisoft products. They have what you're after.
