Media Player rarely plays audio on Dell

roger

Sometimes immediately after rebooting, the audio works.
But usually not. Web Sites or inserting a CD.

I have windows 2000 Pro, a Dell Latitude Laptop with ESS
Maestro Card.

Is there any support available? I have had 3 windows
based PC's and never had multi-media stuff work correctly.

Thanks

Please get ONE ATI All in Wonder Radeon 9000 or higher,
and put it on the server.
The MMC app has a media steaming server built in.
You can either tune the MMC to a television broadcast,
or point it to an AVI,DVx or MPx file and "push" it
out to authenticated users ONLY.

I know that Windows Media has a similar feature, but
it's just a chopped down version, purchased from ATI
by Microsoft.
Trash or archive the microsoft stream server and replace
it with the real thing.
ALSO the ATI version is not as choppy, has more security,
and doesn't rely on windows Media Rights Management for
security, instead it adds a "scrambled" type of signal
that can only be decoded in real time, and cannot be played
back later EVEN IF THEY DO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO CAPTURE IT.
Which is pretty hard because like I said, it's coming over
an ethernet, not a broadcast, and the signal can only be
decoded by the proper ATI viewer.
