Media Player 11 Install fails

What the hell is going on here. I tried to install media Player 11 and
it runs a LONG time before right at the end it says it fails to
install, try again. I do that and get the same thing. I tried with no
startup applications running by using msconfig and I tried without
preventing startups.

I then tired 10 and OF COURSE it says not valid with this version,of
XP. Yeah because I suppose part of 11 got installed.

WHAT TO DO NOW?

I got it installed. There is an answer in the Knowledge Base on
microsoft.com and it worked.
I found it under the error code 27000

And now you might want to uninstall it and go back to WMP10 or WMP9. Apart
from looking slightly flashier, it ships with a lot of the DRM baggage that
Vista comes with (and why there is resistance to changing to Vista).
