MEDIA - Kernel Wave Audio Mixer

Jason

Installed a new Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1 Digital
sound card and can't get any sound. Checked the Device
Manager and there is an Unknown Device in the Sounds,
video and game controllers bucket with the yellow
circle/exclamation icon. I right click it and select
update drive - it goes throught he motions and then gives
me the following message:

"There was a problem installing this hardware: Microsoft
Kernel Wave Audio Mixer

An error occured during the installation of the divice

The data is invalid."

Help!!!

If the original board sound device is still installed
that will cause that problem.Go into the BIOS,Advanced,
Advanced chipset submenu,find A/C 97 and disable.Or,
uninstall creative in device mgr.,restart computer, then
to windows update, try windows drivers they work better.
