Media Center Codec/Decoder - Thank you for your help!

john

I just recently had a hard drive failure and had to install a new one.
Everything works fine (except my TV) after the tech reinstalled windows. The
media center works but when I click on a channel it says the decoder is not
being recognized or is corrupt.

I am taking a guess, but I imagine it may be a 2005 version of Media Center.
I don't know where to find this information either. I don't know why but
media player version 10 works fine. I guess different codecs? :) :)

The place I purchased the computer from has gone out of business and it
appears that I need to get a Media Center Codec or so the repair person at
London Drugs says. I don't have anything on Disk. Does anyone know where I
could get ahold of the right Codec?

As a side issue I also lost all my preloaded application software. I really
would appreciate any help.

I am sorely missing my hockey games.

Thanks again.

Try microsoft.com/downloads/media,locate codec installation

10 cant,update the player...
