MDW file - what am I doing wrong?

Here's the deal: a user wants to secure her MDB. So I went to TOOLS /
SECURITY / WORKGROUP ADMINISTRATOR and created a new MDW file. Then I went
back into security and setup all the permissions and users. No problem,
everything worked exactly as I tohought it would.

HOWEVER, I then closed the application and re-joined my old (generic) MDW
without a password. I then reopened the secured application, expecting to get
an error message (since I was no longer pointing to the correct MDW). But no,
the app opened up just fine!

What did I not do properly to force the correct MDW relationship for that
MDB? I'm scratching my head here, but I can't think of a thing...

What you did is not even close to all of the steps required to set up
security. You need to get the security FAQ from Microsoft and read it
thouroughly several times and then try again on a TEST FILE.

Access security is complicated. You cannot get it right just playing around
with the menus.

You should have closed Access and reopened it, as you were still using the
standard system.mdw workgroup. You must not miss a single step while
securing or it won't be secure.

Ah, but once I created it, I looked and had automatically joined it. That's
why I didn't close/reopen the app. Is there a doc somewhere that details the
exact steps I need to follow? I'd rather NOT use the wizard if at all
possible.
