mdbt file extension

We share our database files. For some reason, when we open our 2003
databases (recently converted from 97), we are getting a database file name
with .mdbt as the extension.

This happens when the database is open.
We see the .ldb file which indicates that the database is open.
When we open the .mdb, we get the .file extension.

Any ideas? My client wants an explanation and I jez dunno,
Thanx in advance,
Gerry b.

What do you mean by "when you open our 2003 databases"? Are you saying that
if you create a new database, it has the extension of mdbt?

Unless someone's gone in and set up new file associations, so that .mdbt
opens with 2003 and .mdb opens with 97, just rename the files.

We only noticed the ldb when we opened the db on my pc. Then when we opened
another copy on my client's pc, it had the .mdbt extension. I have checked
how files may be associated on my client's pc, and .mdbt has not been set up.

Any further ideas? Greatly appreciated,
Gerry b.
