Maxtor UDMA-5 with UDMA-2 CDRW?

Hello,

I have a Maxtor UDMA-5 drive, running as a Secondary-Master, along
with a UDMA-2 CDRW drive as Secondary Slave.

The problem is; The Maxtor is seen as a UDMA-2 device (running on the
same CDRW cable) and runs quite slow.

Is there a way around this? Seems like I'd have to remove the CDRW
from the secondary channel, but no place else to plug it in.

Thanks much.

Are you using an 80-conductor cable?

Yes, with a new MB just put together.

Oops......nope!, the retailer that installed a newer hard-drive, used
an older-style IDE cable (40-pin). I do remember watching him having
problems finding a long enough cable...

Drive is working fine now (posting as UDMA-5), thanks for stating the
obvious :)
