Maximum number of secrets

I recently purchased a DVD collection (Homicide: Life on the Street,
Season 4) The first disc gags my DVD drives. One cannot recognize it,
and the other reports:

The maximum number of secrets that may be stored
in a single system has been exceeded.

Other DVD drives and players screw up in various ways, so I'm presuming
there is something wrong this the disc. Thankfully, Amazon is taking
care of the exchange.

Meanwhile, I've tried to dicipher the meaning of this error message,
with little success. Does anyone have some speculations about what
might be going on under the covers?

Basically you are being accused of theft in a round-about way.
