Max Users connecting to Shared Folder

I believe I see that the max is 10 users connecting to a shared folder,
however, I have 13 users within the company. Is there anyway to share a
folder that more than 10 users can access?

A user normally connected to a shared folder tried today and got the
following message:
“The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error
has occurred:
No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because
there are already as many connections as the computer can accept.â€
Any workarounds for this?

10 is the maximum for a non server Windows operating system so your choices
are to incovenience some users until another user disconnects or upgrading
to Windows 2003 Server. --- Steve

As Mr. Umbach as told you, there is no way to circumvent the inbound
concurrent connections limitation if you are using a Microsoft
operating system. Here is the explanation:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=314882

concurrent connections:

5 for XP Home
10 for XP Pro/Tablet/MCE
49 for SBS 2000
74 for SBS 2003
Unlimited for full Server O/Ses

Please note that the limitation is for *connections* and not computers
or users; one computer can make multiple connections to another
machine.

Another alternative if your pseudo-server is only acting as a file or
print server (and does not need to actually run Windows programs) is to
install a Linux operating system which does not have the inbound
connections limitation.

Replace WinXP with a Server operating system.
