Max Cached Icons in REG_EXPAND_SZ Why?

I wanted to increase my Max Cached Icons but on a clean install of XP
it's listed as a REG_EXPAND_SZ instead of REG_SZ. How do I increase
the Max Cached Icons when it's listed with the REG_EXPAND_SZ.

So far I just put an x in front of Max Cached Icons to xMax Cached
Icons and created a new Max Cached Icons using REG_SZ,

Value Name: Max Cached Icons
Data Type: REG_SZ
Value Data: some number

You'll have to leave the REG_EXPAND_SZ value xed out or delete it. You
cannot change the Data Type.
