I have a copyright text box on my powerpoint presentations. I can not figure
out how to modify the dates contained it it for different presentations using
the same master slide.

On the master slide you want to format the "<FOOTER>" text box to the needed
position, text box size, font attributes, but do not type in your copyright
info here (leave it with the <footer> text.

Now go to VIEW >> HEADER/FOOTER

Check the FOOTER and type in the needed copyright info.

Click APPLY TO ALL

Now the copyright info should be o all slides in the presentaion. To change,
just change text here, click apply to all and save presentation.
