Is there a way to mask the actual address in an e-mail hyperlink? We have a
teacher who wants to include a "contact me" link that will send an e-mail
message but he doesn't want the actual address displayed in the To: section.
Is this possible?

I have seen it where it doesn't appear but that isn't going to stop
anyone from getting his email address because all you have to do is hover
over it and the email address is displayed in the bottom bar of the browser.

Laura,

Are you trying to mask the address so that the spam-bots do
not see it OR trying to mask it so that the mail program
does not show the actual address?

To total hide it, you would need to use a form and server-side script to process the form.

I'm trying to mask it so the mail program does not show the actual address.
For instance, I've noticed some mail appears with the "alias" in the From
section. The teacher would like it to just read his name and not the full
e-mail address. I understand the recipient can look at the properties to find
the real address.

If you use a form, then the student would never see the teacher's email address, unless the teacher
replied to the student.
