We have a peer to peer network with one acting as the database server for a
proprietary software. Recently after a reboot, the other workstations
cannot open the database. In order to make the connection work, the path to
the database has to be set with UNC and not use the network drive. This is
not a recommended practice for the software. I can access files through
the mapped drive on the server, but it does not work going through the
software. The support tech for the software said there was a problem with
the drive mapping.
Could this be a problem with the network? We have a Multitech router and
multitech switch for the network. The router is a dial up router for the
Internet.
Thanks for your help in advance!
