Map Network Drive

I have networked to computers in my house. On one I run
winXP Pro and and the other winXP Home. On the Pro
machine, I can "Map Network Drive Drive..." either from
the Tools\Map Network Drive or from the right-click
dialog menu. On the XP Home machine in the right-click
context menu, I have the option to map a network drive,
but it's faded and I can't click on it. What do I need to
do to enable this feature on the XP Home machine? Thanks.

Hi, do you have the same problem if you open My Computer, and then click on Tools? I have the same setup, and on my XP Home machine I can map a network drive this way. I am assuming that you can access drives on the XP Pro machine from your XP Home PC. Post a reply and I'll try to help some more. Good luck, Flash.

I have the same problem when trying when going to My Computer like you said. Both of my computers that I want to map over the network have XP Pro. And like I said, whenever I try to map one to the other, it always prompts me for a Guest password, which I don't know. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks for responding.
I can connect to the computer by going throught the Net
Work places, but I want to map the drive so it appears in
the My Computer screen as a Network Drive.
In the TOOLS menu, I don't even have the option to "Map
Network Drive". I only have that option when I right
click on one of networked drives, and the Map Network
Drive option is still faded out. I have no idea. I
installed all the networking programs I can, and I'm
still clue-less. Any help is welcomed.
