Manually remove domain controller

S

Scott Compton

We are running Windows 2000 servers/AD. We have multiple domain controllers,
one which bit the dust. Since we can not run dcpromo on that machine to
demote, does anyone have the procedures to manually remove the domain
controller from AD?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

What fun - I just did this myself this evening. See KB 216498

You'll need to use ntdsutil and adsiedit...be very careful, but it isn't as
scary as it looks...if you're very careful. ;-)
