Malicious Code Attack on Home Page Options - Need Help

Using Internet Explorer 6, I got bumped onto a website
that initiated some malicious code on my computer. All
that it looks like it did was reset my home page to the
website that initiated the code and then did something
to "gray out" my options where I can no longer change the
home page address. Basically, the Home Page icons
for "Use current, Use default, and Use Blank" have been
fixed so that I cannot click them anymore. I was able to
reset the homepage to what I wanted by two ways: resetting
the web settings on the programs tab for internet options
(which reset the page back to www.msn.com) and then by
using the regedit command to change the default page to
what I wanted.

I have not been able to restore my ability to "ungray" the
3 boxes on the general tab for internet options pertaining
to home page. I am also concerned that something else may
have been done to my computer that I am unaware of. I
have run Norton Antivirus with current data files and have
uncovered nothing.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them? How can I
restore the menu buttons?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

"Spyware" or "malware" can cause this type of problem.

Read these:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
In particular the section "Various Registry Fixes"

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm to stop theses nasties installing.

Get and update then run frequently after checking for new updates:
