making user files private

L

larry

Right clicking a user folder and selecting "sharing and
security (sharing tab)" leads to a box offering the option
to "make this folder private."

I find that on my computer this option is inactive--that
is, I'm not allowed to make that selection. This is true
of all user profiles, including the administrator.

Do I have a setting wrong? Did I screw something up
inadvertently?
