Making sub-headings unique documents

I am using Word 2007. I have a nine-page document with four sub-headings. How
can I make each of the sub-headings a unique document, with the respective
sub-heading the name of the document file?

Thank you.

Hi moon4707,

For such a short document, you could make 4 copies, giving each the name of a relevant heading, then open all 4 documents and delete
from each the content that doesn't apply to the filename before re-saving. Do note that, if the headings are numbered via a numbered
heading style, you're likely to have all headings end up with the same numbers.

If you are thinking of doing so as a precursor to using Word's master
document function then don't! That function is broken in all Word versions.

It would help to know what you want to achieve by doing this. If it is just
to create 4 new documents with their own numbering, then Macropod's solution
is by the easiest. But if you want to keep the same numbering, the solution
will need to be different. Please clarify and let us know the version of
Word you are using.

Thank you macropod, Graham, and Terry for your responses. I am using Word
2007. I wanted short documents covering different How-To functions for the
purpose of study and review. macropod's suggestion would achieve this very
quickly and easily. Happy Holidays and a Joyful and Prosperous New Year to
each of you.
