making MDE

Hi All....For some reason my Make MDE option is grayed out - meaning it is
disabled and I cannot make an mde file. I am using Access 2002. Does anyone
know how can I make it enable?

Convert the file to the 2002 format.

A2002 cannot make an MDE out of an mdb in 2000 format.
