making dvd/cd with photos and music

I have managed to copy files of photo,s from a digital
camara onto a cd/dvd and view them via a dvd player. I
want to put music of my choice in the background can you
give me the idiots guid on how to do this, thanks alot,

Using WMM2 there really aren't any "good" options since your goal is to
"view them via a DVD player". There are a variety of "workable" options,
they all involve using third-party software; see http://papajohn.org for
details.

As for *not* using WMM2, I've been happy with DVD Picture Show from ULead
(other than it doesn't support WMA for audio!). For digital photos *only*,
you'll probably be happier with such specialized software rather than more
general purpose packages.

If you would outline how you got your photos from your computer to a CD/DVD
and viewed them on a stand-alone DVD player, maybe we can offer pointers to
add music. Did you use other software in addition to Movie Maker?
