Can someone let me know the steps (not URL links) that I can convert captured MMV format to MPEG2 which in turn, I can play it on the DVD or VCD player. Thanks in advance!

Save your movie in MM2 as a DV-AVI file

Use your CD or DVD creation software to make your disc.

If your software supports WMV files as input, you can use those from MM2
instead.

If your software doesn't support type I DV-AVI files as inputs, use a
conversion utility to make it a type II DV-AVI file.

Hello There,

First create you video in Movie Maker and save the video in the DV-AVI
format
Using some third party program capable of making a DVD or VCD import your
DV-AVI video file and complete the process to disk

Movie Maker can not burn a VCD or DVD, it can burn a HighMat Video Disk,
but there are no domestic players on the markey at this time...the only
place you could play such a disk is on your computer.

Thanks John, (1) which third party has the best software that converts DV-AVI to VCD(mpeg2)? (2) Is there a freeware that I can use, which has a reasonable quality? (3)Is HighMat Video Disk a built-in format from WMM2? I do have one non-domestic VCD-Player which can play most VCD so far? I would like to save as HighMat Video and give a try if you can let me know ho
Again, thanks for your timely help!

When I try to select on Save to CD from Finish menu, it pops up a message says that "it can not detect a recordable CD drive", in fact I have a HP cd-writer, therefore, it can only write to PC, Is this the right way? (it definitely not same as what DEMO shows), did I do something wrong? Thanks

Hello there,

1) I have never used VCD so am not able to comment on which is the best.

2) I am sure that there is freeware that you can use. VCD IS a quality the
rankings best to worst is DVD, SVCD and VCD

3) HighMat refers to the menu system rather than the actual video. The
video file created is a WMV and can give very good results. Hightmat is
created using Movie Maker 2 and the save to CD option. Highmat can only be
played on Computers at this time. There are no HighMat Video systems
available yet. You will find HighMat Audio and Still Picture players...you
have to check the highmat logo on the box in order to determine whether it
is Audio or Still Picture. It was announced in here many weeks ago that a
specific distributor/manufacturer had started handling HighMat video
players, that information was either released early or not reliable
