Make local computer user domain user too?

Our President needs to access resources on our domain but he always signs in on
his local computer's domain. I tried to find something that would make his
local user 'point' to his domain user but came up short. I read about Stored
Passwords and added one of those, but when I tried to browse to our domain I get
a message saying that the user might not have permissions or that the list of
servers is unavailable. Our domain server is a NT 4.0 machine (his machine is a
XP Pro). His machine lists in the Server Manager but when I tried to get
Properties I get 'the network path is unavailable'. Other XP Pro machines do
come up fine with properties. Any clues? If you need more info just tell me
what it is you need. I played with so many settings for so long it's hard to
recall everything I did.

You can only be connected to a single domain. Why does his machine need to
be on a "local domain" (which kind of doesn't make sense)?
