Make a line so you can type on it, but it doesn't expand or divide

I need to make a line so that someoone can type on it, but the line stays as
is.
I'm preparing an agreement form that I will email and the applicant will
open the document and fill out the form.
As I made the form, if you type on the lines that I made using the
underscore key, the lines will seperate and expand as you add letters, which
is not what I want.
